The papers, notes, tools, case studies and downloads on this site are published for general information. They are not investment, financial, legal, tax or accounting advice, and they are not a recommendation to buy, sell, hold or value any company or security.

Re-In-Essence is not an investment firm. We do not give regulated investment advice, arrange or manage investments, or act as a broker or corporate-finance adviser. Before acting on anything you read here, take advice from your own professional advisers on your own circumstances.

How figures are presented

Every figure we publish carries one class: realised (a cash or contractual outcome, verifiable against records), operational (a measured system improvement, not traced to the profit and loss account), modelled (calculated from stated assumptions) or external (published by a named third party). The classes are never added together.

Market figures, including valuation multiples, are published third-party data. They are cited on the basis their publisher reports them — revenue or EBITDA, public or private, with the period and source — and they describe past transactions and market medians, not the value of any particular company.

Modelled figures, including the modelled case and the worked examples, illustrate stated assumptions. They are not forecasts, valuations or projections for any company, and real outcomes can differ materially.

Past engagements

These results come from specific past engagements, verified against records, and depended on each company’s circumstances. They are not a prediction or guarantee of results for any other company.

Client names are withheld under confidentiality agreements. References are available on request, at the client’s discretion.

The tools

The delivery discount estimator: Indicative only. The estimator applies published market ranges to the figures you enter. It is not a valuation of your company, an offer or advice, and it does not predict what a buyer would pay.

The Scaling Ladder self-check: A general self-assessment based on The Scaling Ladder. It reflects your answers only and is not a professional assessment of your company.

The worksheets and scorecards in the take-away pack compare the figures you enter with published benchmarks, one line at a time. They are aids to your own analysis, not an assessment by us.

Regulation, tax and funding

Where a paper summarises regulation (for example the EU AI Act) or public funding schemes, it states the position at the date given in the paper. It is a summary for orientation, not legal or tax advice, and it should be checked for your jurisdiction and circumstances.

Our engagements and their guarantees

The guarantees named on our engagement pages — such as the Two-Week Read, the 30-Day Stop, Paid on the Increase, the Twelve-Month Replacement Guarantee and the Technical Diligence Guarantee — are commitments we make in a signed engagement agreement, on the terms set out there. Nothing on this page limits them. Outside a signed agreement, nothing on this site is an offer, a promise or a guarantee of any outcome.

Liability

We take care to keep the content accurate and its sources current, but it is provided as it stands, without warranty. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from reliance on the content of this site, its tools or its downloads. Nothing here limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Third-party names and sources

Publishers, data providers and companies named in the papers are cited as sources or public examples. Their names and marks belong to them, and citing them does not imply their endorsement.
